Community Action Lanarkshire
The Community Action Lanarkshire project is funded by Lanarkshire LEADER until 2020 and managed by the Rural Development Trust, offering support for rural communities across rural North and South Lanarkshire, including community-led action plans and projects project development.
Our vision is that community decisions will be made for each place, in that place, by the people who live there. Communities will work together towards a common purpose, where the focus is on local people-led action.The programme will build communities' abilitity to develop, fund and deliver projects to improve local lives for generations to come.
The Community Action Lanarkshire area includes the North Lanarkshire communities of Shotts, Allanton, Harthill, Plains, Caldercruix, Upperton, Longriggend and Greengairs, as well as the South Lanarkshire communities of Leadhills, Crawford, Abington, Glespin, Douglas, Rigside, Crawfordjohn, Forth, Lesmahagow, Kirkfieldbank, Blackwood, Kirkmuirhill, Stonehouse, Sandford, Carstairs Junction, Tarbrax and Woolfords.
